This book was a wake up call for me. It made me realize how dangerous it is to spend everything you make, without putting anything away for a rainy day. Since reading it in the late 1990's I have never stopped
saving a portion of what I earn (and I can assure you, savings have come in mighty handy at times!) It still amazes me that this isn't taught in schools! Surely a book such as this would be far more valuable and practical than some novel which wont do anything for anyone in the real world? Money is a subject of major importance, especially for young children who will soon be going out to make a living- especially when there is so much temptation to get into debt
