apologise now

Coalition of Civil Societies and Media
Executives for Good Governance,

COCMEGG, has condemned Senator Dino
Melaye for disparaging and casting
aspersions on a woman of substance and
beacon of hope to the womenfolk across
Africa, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
The group called for an unreserved apology
immediately.
Viewing Melaye’s utterances as un-
parliamentary, and ungentlemanly, the
president of the group, Kenneth Aigbegbele
and the secretary, James Okoronkwo, in a
statement, said Melaye is “a huge
disappointment to his constituency, the
Senate and the Nigeria’s democracy.
“Dino Melaye is a huge disappointment to
his constituency, the Senate and the
Nigeria’s democracy. It is unfortunate and
reprehensible that Senator Dino had resorted
to maligning the constituted authority on
whose platform he rose to become a
senator.''
Threatening action against this
parliamentary thuggery, the group said: “We
therefore condemn this despicable un-
parliamentary behaviour in its entirety and
demand an unreserved apology on the floor
of the Senate, failure of which, we will be
forced to mobilize and commence recall
proceedings against him."
