Vector writes open letter to the Federral Government, says they are 'killing the future of Nigeria'

This open letter was written to the Federal Government by rapper Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, 'Vector', in protest of the planned data rate hike enforced by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) . Read after the cut...

Dear Federal Government,

You have come a long way with your policies and rule. You have concerned yourself with nothing but the present hence making it look like the constitution has to be remixed and renamed "Your WILL" before your demise. You have ignored the children you saw grow and focused on the ones from your sperm cells and ovulation that you aren't seeing grow because they have been shipped off to "better grounds" for eductaion. You have put your wives in other rooms BUT that of improtance forgetting (if you married a good woman) they balance you when you go astray. You have failed to embrace the spirit and letter of the Almighty you worship be it any religion. You have failed the man you see in d mirror because he isnt a beast or metaphysical beign you don't understand. No, He is the posterboy/girl for greed. You have forgotten how you felt when you were coming up but remember this... you will not forget how you fall. Your money... my bad... our money you take will shame you when you need it the most. The hustling are finding ways to be better but you just want to take from them without giving back. You focus on chasing thieves but never focus on securing the vault they steal from. In the history of our existence as a generation, we have never gotten levelled platforms to play as we have gotten with the internet. The people have become more exposed to business ideas, global news, information sharing from continent to continent between seconds. Industry has gotten global awareness because of this.

Music has started to look better just because with data you can put up your craft be it music or painting or write ups or poems or comedy or pets or life to make people happy in a steady sinking world of frustrating conflicting governance and hustle.

You concern yourself with your percieved negatives over the objective positives. You are killing the future of Nigeria. You are killing the future of Nigeria. Internet is almost free in a lot of "advanced" countries too. Be careful Nigeria... don't ruin yourself. DON'T!!!

Iggy Azalea's plastic surgeon says she had small breasts and a weird nose before he worked on her

Iggy Azalea is not at all coy about the fact she has had cosmetic surgery. The singer took to Instagram over the weekend to wish her plastic surgeon Dr. Ashkan Ghavami a happy birthday and now the Beverly Hills physician has revealed what bits he tweaked to make her look better.

He told People.com that prior to the cosmetic procedures he performed, 'her breasts were super small and super wide apart' and her nose 'had a really weird shape to it.'

'I wanted to bring (her breasts) towards the middle and give her a lot more cleavage, but not go too big where it looks obvious...... I wanted to create as natural shape as possible, but give her enough size to proportion her tall, big-hipped frame.'

He revealed her performed what he called 'a flash-recovery breast augmentation' without bleeding or bruising.
'It’s a minimally invasive technique. Iggy had her arms up in the air, dancing four days later,' he explained to the magazine.
As for her nose, Ghavami said he had to do 'a lot of tip shaping to narrow and refine her tip without it looking done.'
'She had a tiny hump that I reduced, and also she was very deviated and had blockage for breathing, so we really killed four birds with one stone.'

World’s oldest person, Emma Morano celebrates 117th birthday

Ms Emma Morano of Vercelli, Italy was born 117 years year ago on November 29, 1899. Guinness World Records confirmed her as the world's oldest person on May 16 this year, when she was 116 years and 169 days old. Her life has spanned three centuries, two World Wars and more than 90 Italian governments.

On Tuesday, Ms Morano celebrated her birthday in her flat, a home she hasn’t left for years and receives 24-hour care. According to her, the peculiar diet she began after World War I helped her become one of the oldest people ever. When she was a teenager, a doctor suggested that she eat raw eggs to combat her anemia. Morano followed a diet of two raw eggs, one cooked egg, a little minced meat and pasta for the past 90 years, but now limits herself to two eggs a day and a few biscuits.

Her physician, Dr Carlo Bava, has however credited her long life to her genetic make-up, and nothing else. "She is in a great state of health and mind. The fact that she has never had much variety in her diet is proof that she is so well-preserved thanks to genetics." Ms Morano's mother reached the age of 91 and she had several sisters who reached their centenary

500 Nigerians receive financial empowerment from Africa's young entrepreneurs

The Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs Empowerment Nigeria (AYEEN) empowered 500 beneficiaries. These beneficiaries were pulled from thousands of participants who were screened pan Nigeria.

They pitched their ideas before the international and local business experts that served as judges at the audition phase of the program earlier this year.

The business ideas pitched cut across all the major sectors of the economy giving the judges a multifarious view of the Nigerian entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The A.Y.E Chief Executive Matron, Mrs. Folorunso Alakija encouraged all the beneficiaries not to relent in their effort to succeed in their chosen endeavours. She quipped that her entrepreneurship voyage has been one of continuous hard work laced with determination and resilience. She also added that despite the issues in the economy that entrepreneurs still play a vital role in the development of the nation.

The President, Mr. Summy Smart Francis charged all beneficiaries in his speech to forge ahead by ensuring that their naysayers especially those who have the opinion that their business will fail, do not have the last laugh. He spoke about the struggles of an entrepreneur but advised that the resources that is being provided by the organization to boost their operations is not utilsed for frivolities rather for the development of the business that will have a catalytic result providing employment opportunities for fellow Nigerians and Africans.
Through the night of the event, every speaker recommended to all the 500 beneficiaries that the journey of entrepreneurship comes with a lot of work but at the end it is rewarding with huge benefits that do not serve them alone but also the country. The 500 finalists were presented with awards, business mantles and celebrated by a cheering crowd. The AYEEN program did not only impact the 500 finalist, but the entire nation, when you imagine the ripple effect, one entrepreneur empowering ten others.

The Vice President, Ms. Ibada Ahmed created a solemn atmosphere as she called the attention of all present in the hall to an initiative that will see to the restructuring of Borno state themed Empower Borno, she gave the statistics of the damages and ruins effected by insurgency, orphaned and malnourished children, and the state of the Internally Displaced Persons camp. She asked that all rise to action because it just might be someone dear that could be next. This initiative in partnership with the Borno State Government sees to create a shift from old to new, restoring the calm and quiet Borno once enjoyed.
The finalists were full of gratitude, and the crowd was inspired. The smiles on the faces of the finalists spoke volumes and they could not hold back the euphoria when they were interviewed. The beneficiaries who ranged from the very young and energetic to the middle aged all had exciting stories to tell about their AYEEN experience, the screening, the wait, and the excitement of standing out from the multitude of applicants and making it to the top 500. All the finalists were in consensus that it was a pivotal moment in their lives, and we cannot wait to see the exciting projects that these innovative entrepreneurs would execute with their AYEEN funds.

The AYEEN grand finale which held on the 25th of November was a success in every interpretation of the word. 500 finalists were presented and celebrated. The AYEEN program did not only impact the 500 finalist, but the entire nation, when you imagine the ripple effect, one entrepreneur empowering ten others. AYEEN is changing the economy and the future of the nation an entrepreneur or rather 500 entrepreneurs at a time.
